Nailsea Community Group

The Nailsea Community Group was launched June 2020 as a help group providing support to resident’s during the coronavirus crisis. The Group runs a Facebook Community Page where people can request one-off support and volunteer work from the community.

The Nailsea Community Group started in March 2020 as a Covid-response group. It has now evolved into a Community support group. We want to build on the strong sense of community culture in our town.

The Nailsea Community Group organises:

Community Buddies – ID-verified volunteers who offer neighbourly help to those who do not have local support and would benefit form having someone nearby to offer a helping hand.

  • Community Foodbank – offers delivery of food to help when unexpected financial problems arise.
  • Community Food Club – provides two bags of store-cupboard items worth £10-£15 for £3.50, for residents receiving Working Tax Credits, Universal Credit or Pension Credit or whose children are eligible for Pupil Premium.
  • Community Larder – redistributes good quality surplus food that would otherwise be wasted. It is open to all in the Community; we ask people to take up to 5 items (plus bread). It costs nothing, as all food is ‘rescued’ and needs a home.
  • Nailsea Active – works closely with groups, clubs and activities in our community to inform, inspire and motivate all residents to get more physically and mentally active.
