The Meeting Point is open in Backwell Parish Hall every Tuesday from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm, offering a wide range of information and contacts and a variety of activities. We provide a community hub, where people of all ages can meet to socialise and have a (with tea, coffee and cake), access a range of services and support and where small groups can gather. There’s an occasional speaker slot with talks on numerous helpful topics.
We have internet access for those wishing to use it or to be helped to use it, links to and support for North Somerset on-line housing benefit and council tax forms and vouchers for the Clevedon Foodbank and its distribution centre in Nailsea. There’s a regular lunch club. Crafts and other activities are provided for younger children (with parents) during school holidays.
The Computer confidence club is on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month at Backwell Parish Hall from 11am-12.30pm. Come along and learn new skills to help you search the internet, send emails, shop online and communicate with family and friends via Facebook/Skype or Face time.
This is a community initiative, started by a group of Christians in Backwell and run by the registered charity, Backwell Life.
