WHAT DO WE DO?

Some things we do…

The Council’s Town Orderly ensures the Skatepark and Glassworks site are free of litter each morning and the pavements and pathways around the High Street are clean and tidy.


Provide and service a number of dog waste bins across to the town.


Through the work at 65 High Street, relationships have been developed with local medical groups as well as academics and medical professionals regionally and nationally to ensure Nailsea is included in projects which will broaden opportunities for individual wellbeing.


Maintain and manage the Tithe Barn and 65 High Street as facilities for community groups to meet and use.


Is responsible for Hannah More Park and the Skatepark, providing facilities for play and exercise.


Provide land for allotments, enabling residents to grow their own produce for recreation and exercise.


Provide grants to community groups


Respond to various consultations from North Somerset Council and other organisations which will impact the town and its residents.


Worked with Nailsea and District Footpath Group and North Somerset Council to produce a Town Paths maps highlighting walking routes through and around Nailsea.


Commissioned a project working with residents to exploring the town’s hidden history and memories of the more recent past.


Install festive lights along the High Street each Christmas.


Established a monthly Farmers and Craft Market in the town centre.

HOW TO GET IN TOUCH WITH US

The Council meets weekly on a Wednesday evening to discuss matters and make decisions on various matters at the Tithe Barn. All agendas are publicised on notice boards in the town as well as the Town Council website and anyone is welcome to attend.
